Hundreds turned out for Friends of Arbroath Abbey event before joining a parade to recreate the departure of the 1320 declaration to France.
The community celebration of the 705th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath, held in the grounds of the Abbey saw local businesses and the community come together.
A silent disco, mini boot camp fitness circuit, calligraphy lessons and arts and crafts kept the crowds busy before taking part in a parade through the town centre.
Friends of Arbroath Abbey encouraged people to sign a modern-day pledge of support for the Abbe as they work to increase awareness of the Abbey and encourage greater visitor numbers.
Fantastic to see the event covered in the press – and even on the front page of the Dundee Courier.
