Our Arbroath

Funding

Arbroath, identified as one of the 75 towns to benefit from the UK Government’s Long Term Town Fund (LTTF), was allocated £20 million over a ten-year period. The objective is to empower local people to shape their town’s success and provide them with long-term funding to drive positive change.

In June 2024, Angus Council appointed Peter Stirling as Chair of the newly formed Arbroath Town Board. With just four months to appoint board members and submit the full funding application.

The funding has been allocated to deliver projects under three key themes: Safety and Security, Transport and Connectivity, and High Streets, Heritage, and Regeneration.

The guidance requires a 3-year investment plan and a 10-year vision for the future of the town. Both must reflect the feedback gathered from the local community through the Arbroath Town Board’s engagement process. A fundamental requirement is ensuring that the voice of Arbroath’s community is heard and guides the town’s future plans.
