Arbroath was selected as part of the Government’s Long Term Plan for Towns spring budget announcement in March 2024.
Arbroath Town Board’s primary goal was to submit a compelling 10-year vision and 3-year investment plan by late October ahead of the November deadline set by Government.
Arbroath MP Stephen Gethins and Town Board Chairman Peter Stirling recently journeyed to London to deliver Arbroath Town Plan to key decision-makers.
Community at the Heart of the Plan
Over 800 individuals, including a significant number of young people, contributed their ideas and aspirations. This produced 2,105 comments and ideas and represents the largest community feedback from Arbroath residents for any town plan in decades.
“I am at a stage in my life where I want to do some public service and volunteer work and what better way than helping my hometown Arbroath. I am very proud to be Chairman of the new town board. I believe everyone in Arbroath is a stakeholder in this project and I will do my best to serve them and the town as best as I can. I am very fortunate to have a talented and passionate board, who all want to work hard and deliver success for Arbroath.”
Peter Stirling
