Alex comes from a long line of fishers on both sides of his family, stretching back many generations. He followed in their footsteps at the young age of 15, captaining the Sincerity boats out of various Scottish ports, including Arbroath, Montrose, Aberdeen, Peterhead, Macduff, Shields, and Pittenweem. As the fishing industry declined, he diversified his career, working as crew on different vessels and serving as a pilot out of Dundee.
With no plans for retirement, Alex now offers a range of sea trips, including visits to the Bell Rock, sea angling, and sightseeing excursions up and down the coast. His family has a strong legacy in the fishing community, as he was the last president of the Arbroath Fisherman’s Association, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother.
Alex is currently Vice Chair of the Arbroath Community Council, Chairman of the Arbroath Improvement Trust, and a member of the Arbroath Harbour Board. He is a dedicated member of the community, driven by a passion to improve the local area.
