It’s been an extremely busy and rewarding time for our volunteer run town board, as we’ve continued to reach out across the community and gather ideas that will help shape Arbroath’s future. 

The response has been incredible. Our final community vote received 2,593 replies, and when combined with all of the other engagement activities held so far, over 5,000 people have now shared their thoughts and hopes for the town’s future. That’s a remarkable level of local involvement and a real sign of how much people care about Arbroath. 

These results give us a clear sense of the community’s priorities. But before we can finalise anything, the next step is to test these ideas against what’s realistic and achievable. To do this, we’ve brought in an independent cost consultant, who will spend the next month assessing the proposed projects. 

Following that work, the Board undertook the task of pulling together Arbroath’s four-year plan and ten-year vision, with the aim of submitting the final proposal to the UK Government by 28 November, which we were delighted to achieve.
