Arbroath Town Board is recruiting for an exciting new position that’s never existed before – a Regeneration Officer to help drive forward our town’s transformation.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of Arbroath’s regeneration, working directly with our community and local businesses to deliver the Government Plan for Neighbourhoods and make our town an even better place to live, visit, and do business.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Regeneration Officer, you’ll be the engine room of our regeneration efforts. You’ll coordinate community engagement and consultation, support project sub-groups, help plan and deliver public events and workshops, and ensure we’re listening to, and acting on, what local people want.
You’ll also be the key liaison between Arbroath Town Board, Angus Council and the Plan for Neighbourhoods team, keeping everyone connected and moving in the same direction.
Day-to-day, you’ll handle admin and communications for the Town Board, produce progress updates, help manage our annual Regeneration Fund, and develop creative ways to get more people involved in shaping Arbroath’s future.
Who We’re Looking For
We need someone motivated, resilient and genuinely passionate about regeneration – with the drive and positive attitude to help lead real change in our town.
You’ll need good communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to build excellent relationships with community groups and businesses, and confidence running consultations and engagement events. Basic IT and social media skills are essential.
Familiarity with the Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods initiative is important. Previous regeneration experience, consultation work, and problem-solving skills are all desirable, though not essential if you’ve got the right attitude and commitment.
Some evening and weekend work will occasionally be required, so flexibility matters. A driving licence may be advantageous for attending meetings and events across the town.
