Gillian Alcorn is Depute Head Teacher at Arbroath Academy. Born and raised in the town, she returned to build her career in education and is passionate about creating real opportunities for the next generation.

Throughout her time teaching, Gillian has engaged in meaningful partnerships between schools, local businesses and the wider community, helping young people to feel supported and equipped for their futures. Her main focus has been to improve outcomes for young people and strengthen their connection to the town.

Gillian played a key role in supporting the development of the Our Arbroath Youth Town Board, ensuring Arbroath’s latest generation was able to help shape what the town becomes.
